May 2024 update
MICROSOFT
Time for another update! This time it's May 2024. We've only got two things that exist in this release, one item that's Generally Available, and one that is a fix for an issue with segment membership. Good to stay updated so go ahead and get that pushed out when you can!

Active journeys that were created on or before May 5, 2022 will stop working on July 1, 2024
MICROSOFT
I've mentioned this before, but if you've not seen or ignored it previously, make sure you pay attention as your journeys may stop working depending on how old they are. Please take a look so you aren't taken by surprise!

Predefined Placeholder Access In Customer Insights - Journeys
MEGAN V. WALKER
One of the cool things you can use in Emails in Realtime Marketing (in the Customer Insights – Journeys) app is personalisation. Accessing data is pretty simple, and Microsoft have even provided a list of pre-defined values for you such as Full Name and First Name to add to your emails. You can also add in new placeholders for you and other users to access quickly too. But what if someone on the team adds too many, or the wrong mapped ones. Or what if you want to get rid of some of the out of the box ones? In this post I will walk through how to do that and also how to adjust the security access when necessary.

This post from Pauline is one to check out where she looks at ALM (Application Lifecycle Management) and why it is important even when it comes to triggers in Customer Insights - Journeys.

Evolving Microsoft Credentials for Dynamics 365
MICROSOFT - GRETCHEN LABELLE
If you enjoy taking exams, this is good to know about. There are some changes coming, with a new certification coming in September 2024. However, what this means is some other certifications being retired, including the Dynamics 365 Customer Insights (Journeys) Functional Consultant Associate and Dynamics 365 Customer Insights (Data) Specialty along with their corresponding exams.

Chat-GPT for marketers: How to get the most from it
AI FOR NON-TECHIES - HEATHER MURRAY
A webinar from Heather Murray, shared by The Marketing Meetup, all about using ChatGPT as a marketer. Are you using it? I must admit, even though I don't have much love for Copilot, I use ChatGPT daily, and at times use it to generate some quick test scenarios and copy for my demo and blog emails. Find out what suggestions Heather has for using it!

Protect your business: 7 shady things when buying email lists
MAILERCHECK
I used to hate it when I was asked to import Leads that had 'just been bought' by someone in Sales. Although there are legitimate lists that can be purchased, there are so many possible issues in doing so. Was it obtained legally? Will it harm your current deliverability? Is it worth the investment? Definitely one to read through and share with your sales team too!

ChatGPT 4o: OpenAI announces talking bot, faster responses and other free features
PITCH
Another one on ChatGPT, this time on some of the new free features being rolled out. A talking bot? Sounds interesting. Apparently improvements to this will allow for a more natural, real-time voice conversation, and the ability to converse with ChatGPT via real-time video. Will be interesting to see what that looks like!
